Got a business idea? Is it realistic, viable and original? Are you 100% dedicated and focused? – YOTA wants to support young enterprising people who wishing to set up their own business and will be able to employ other youths.

Who can apply?
As part of our long-term aim of supporting self-employment initiatives, YOTA will be supporting young people who want set up their own business. YOTA will be providing dedicated entrepreneurs with advice and financial support. This will be provided on a competitive basis: only the very best proposals will be accepted. You will need to show that your plans are realistic, viable and original and that your business has the potential to be successful. We will need to see complete commitment and great focus and initiative. YOTA especially wishes to support businesses that will eventually provide employment opportunities to other youths.

How much?
Support will be given in the form a grant and a loan. There will be a grant for the business set-up costs, up to a maximum of Rs. 2,00,000 and an interest free loan for on-going costs for the first few months of the business's activities to a maximum of Rs. 3,00,000 – this will need to be paid back to YOTA within the first one or two years of the business's activities. The total maximum support will be Rs. 4,00,000.

Procedure:

  • first you need to register with YOTA
  • then fill in the “Apply for funding” form and attach your Business plans with your budgets. We will want to see a detailed business plan which outlines your business ideas, the market you are targeting, how you are going to market yourself, where the business would be based and why it will be successful. The cash flows and budgets should outline in detail your set-up costs and on-going costs as well as your estimated income and your breakeven point.
  • If your business plan and cash flows impress us, we will invite you for an interview to discuss the viability of your usiness plan and other details.

Advice and other on-going support:
If you are accepted onto the programme we will provide professional support in the form of a mentor who will be able to give you expert advice relating to your specific business field. We will also regularly review your progress and provide on-going support throughout the business start up period and beyond in order to give you the maximum chance of being successful.
