Y.O.U. Welcomes Senior Leadership

Y.O.U. is honored to welcome two new senior leaders to our team. 

Teresa Cortas (she/her/hers) now serves as Executive Director of Clinical and Outreach services, overseeing Y.O.U.'s counseling, case management, and outreach services for youth and young adults. Teresa brings more than 25 years of experience as a director, advocate, and clinician. She has previously served in leadership positions at Sarah's Circle, Covenant House, and The Salvation Army. Teresa holds a Master's degree from the University of Chicago's Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Advocacy  where she also served as an adjunct faculty member for 9 years. Teresa and her daughter call Evanston home.

April Langworth (she/her/hers) is Y.O.U.'s new Executive Director of Out-of-School-Time Programs. In this role. April oversees all afterschool and summer programming for youth in grades 3-12. She came to Y.O.U. from Columbia College Chicago where she ran their Community Schools afterschool programming at multiple school sites across Chicago. April brings significant experience in youth development, education, and arts learning. She also brings a strong interest in program evaluation, continuous quality improvement, and impact. April holds a Master of Education from Loyola University Chicago. She has a background in theater education and teaching.
